Morning of May 18 ... This scene sent me for the camera. |
If I counted correctly, 19 units were dispatched for Marine Fire on Water. |
About 15 minutes later the dispatch was cancelled. I do not know what happened but did find out that this ship had been the US Coast Guard Cutter John Midgett WHEC-726. Photo below ...
USCGC John Midgett was transferred (sold? given?) to Vietnam and refurbished in Seattle earlier this year. Renamed Vietnam CG 8020. Photo below ... |
Nice looking Cutter when not on fire. |
Spring Walks ...
My daily walks have been along the Seattle waterfront, where I almost always find something for the camera.
Blooms ...
Birds ...
Bunnies ...
Ship names ...
How do you like GLYKOFILOUSSA ? Ship names are a fascination to me. |
GLYKOFILOUSSA, a bulk carrier, visited Grain Terminal 86 |
Along the walk ...
I start here and walk about 1 1/2 miles turn around and come back for a total of about 3 miles. |
My favorite tree on the walk. Photo on left taken April 14. Photo on right taken May 13. |
On a clear day, May 11th, the view of Mt Rainier from the waterfront was sweet. |
April 6 sunset from home. |
Closing thought ...
"We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid."
