Today's Sunrise and Rainbow

Walking around Green Lake this morning we had a hunch that we were going to have a pretty nice sunrise and it sure turned out that way.  The sunrise was at first a blaze of color and then some interesting effects on the lower clouds.  All that was capped off with a double rainbow.  Be sure to click on photos for the larger view.

To all my followers and friends:  Have a great weekend.

Thanks for stopping by John's Island.

Sunrise at Sea

On September 3rd our SET (Senior Executive Team ... emphasis on SENIOR) was once again at sea and John was on duty to capture this sunrise.  We were northbound along the coast of British Columbia en route to Ketchikan, Alaska. The mountains in the far distance reminded us of the edge of a saw ... you know, "serrated" ....  Needless to say, at 6:53 am, there was no crowd on deck to capture this scene.  It's worth it, though, as there is a certain kind of serenity at this moment of the morning, out on the ocean, when all seems well with the world.

Thanks for stopping by John's Island.

Moonlight

On the early morning of September 1 the full moon was descending in the western sky.  From our viewpoint the moon slipped behind one of Seattle's tall skyscrapers while clouds above were interestingly illuminated. Be sure to click on photos for larger view.

September has flown by so fast and we've been taking a break here at John's Island.  Lots of new pictures to share over the days ahead.  Thanks for stopping by!
