Fall Visit to Bonsai Collection

On August 22, 2012, we started a little series on Bonsai here on John's Island.  Visiting the Weyerhaeuser Bonsai Collection is an excellent way to find a little tranquility and beauty right in the midst of urban rush.  So, we returned to the Collection twice ... once in mid September, and again near the end of November.  Here are some photos from our Fall visits.  (For those who missed our first visit you can find it here. )

Really liked this pear in Fall colors

This visit was on a sunny afternoon. The sun was low in the sky.

By now you have noticed that most of the Bonsai are now in
enclosures to protect them from the weather.

Very cool purple berries!

  2. Each is alike a piece of art. I cannot imagine the talent it takes to manage them into that form.
