Cruise Ships Return to Seattle

Ovation of the Seas
a Royal Caribbean ship
arriving in Seattle, July 1, 2021.

In 2019 the last cruise ship departed Seattle on October 23. Due to the pandemic, not a single large cruise ship visited the Port for 617 days, or, to put it another way, 1 year, 8 months, 8 days. Finally, on July 1, 2021, Ovation of the Seas, arrived in Port.

Several other ships have arrived since July 1 ...

The first cruise scheduled out of Seattle, per Port of Seattle 2021 Cruise Schedule Updated 6.16.21, will be next Monday, July 19th, round trip Alaska, Serenade of the Seas.

In the meantime, the ships have been coming and going, sometimes staying over for a day or more. My hunch is they are hosting travel agents for short demo cruises.

  1. Hello,
It has been a long time for the cruise industry, I hope they do well and are back to normal soon. I know lots of people who love cruising. My very first cruise was a Holland American cruise from Seattle to Alaska. It was perfect for my first cruise. Take care, have a happy day!

  2. Hi John,
Good to see the Cruise Ships returning to the Port of Seattle...a sign that things are returning to normality. We are in total Lock Down here in SW Sydney- no visitors to our home and no going out except for groceries and chemist- it'l be this way for awhile yet. Stay well there John. Regards. KEV.

  4. I guess things will open up. I'm not sure things are ready for cruise ships yet. there's still too much covid around.

  5. Seems a bit too soon for cruise ships to start up again.
Not a fan of cruise ships anyway, but they are nice to look at.
