Seattle Snow December 26

The snow started early this morning.
Now, at 10:30 AM we have accumulated about 2 inches.
More on the way.  25F (-3.8)

Under the feeder is the little heater.
It consists of a small light bulb ... just enough
heat to prevent freezing.
I moved the feeder down to a table on the deck
to get it out of some of the wind.

The snow encourges them to share!

Not sure if I will do a walk today. Maybe walk around home for an hour or so?

  2. We had snow last week, but most of it is gone. Now, the temperature is starting to drop. I just came in from taking my trash can to the road . . . I looked on my phone and it said 20 degrees but feels like 9. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Stay warm my friend and here's wishing you a healthy new year.
    God bless you.

  5. Hello,
Oh my, it does look cold. It is nice you have the heater under their feeder. It is amazing these little hummers survive the cold winters. We may see some snow today. I wish you all the best in 2022, a happy and healthy New Year. Take care, enjoy your day and week ahead.

  6. I didn't even leave my house yesterday, with 20 below zero wind chill, and lots of snow. Right now (Monday morning) it's 8°F and the wind is still blowing. I'm so glad you have a heater for the hummers. :-)

  7. Snow! How magical if one's not driving. We usually only dream of it here, although our tornado season seems to be getting longer into winter. Our Christmas day was spent with the temperatures in the low 70's, which is unusual here. Lovely photos of the hummingbirds.
