April Blooms - Part 1 and MORE

Saturday (April 9th) was a sunny, warm day in Seattle ... one of those days that really calls for a walk outside. We did that and took a few pictures along the way. Here are some we hope you'll enjoy.

More snaps on the way in our next post.

Now, not on our walk, but if we had been in Yellowstone, we might have been able to snap something like you see below in our April 10, 2016, screen capture from Twitter. This photo is by Jane Olson.

From our collection ... vintage travel ...

Like a morning cup of coffee? In the days of operation of the Santa Fe Super Chief you might have used a card like the one above to request coffee in your sleeping car accomodations. These days Chico might be considered to be a little politically incorrect. By the way, for those of you new to our blog, we collect vintage travel memorabilia, most of it related to railroads and/or US National Parks.

More recent travel ...

We spent some time aboard Alaska Airlines and picked up the in-flight magazine. It's a very well done publication. We thought perhaps the best thing of all was their "photo page" ... featuring a picture of the Grand Canyon by Prochasson Frederic.  How do you like it?

  1. So nice to see those flowers. We are still a bit cold to have too many blooming right now.

  6. Beautiful spring flowers. That feeling you had when you wanted to get out and walk. I feel that way every day. : )
