  4. Comments about ironing and mending are interesting. Our iron has not been used for years. We do mend things.

  6. Ah, these postcards bring back good memories! When I was little my siblings and I had a quilt with bears on it--one for each day of the week. I wouldn't be surprised if the chores for each weekday were the same as for the bears you're posting here.

    As for mending, I pretty much just try to stick with duct tape on my work/garden clothes. Sewing is definitely not my favorite task, and by the time my clothes is worn down enough to tear, the material is so thin it will just rip in another place soon anyway. Sooo...I add more and more duct tape until it's too stiff to wear. Then I get rid of the duct tape, tear up the garment and use it as a rag. Emm...maybe I've just watched too many MacGyver shows--I carry a pocket knife too.
