Safe to come out? -- August 3 -- Green Lake Raccoon

Can you see him? Right in the middle of the picture ...

Caught this little guy peeking out of his overnight accommodation.  Another walker had spotted him and pointed him out or he probably would have gone undetected.  A few days earlier I had seen this little critter running around in the same area but he was too fast for me to get the camera powered up. (Be sure to click on photos for larger views.)

---> Walking around Green Lake daily and trying to find a little something to share on John's Island. The walk is 2.8 miles and the time depends on how many photo opportunities present themselves.

    I know tree hollows are common nesting locations for raccoons. Any chance this one is a 'she' with little raccoons?

    Hi Ingrid, This raccoon could definitely be a 'she' ... I will be on the look out for little ones, although I haven't seen any so far.
