1941 July 4, 5, 6

We are taking a look at the memory book created by Charlotte Isham after she and Anne Hausmann (two young school teachers) took a road trip of over 11,000 miles across America in 1941.  The journey begins here and continues, on July 4,5, and 6, below ...

 July 4

Route 77 and 16 are pretty much history today.

There are other area museums today but the
Fossil Museum Charlotte and Anne visited
does not seem to still be in business.

We love these old stickers/labels

Continue with July 7 - Yellowstone

Thanks for stopping by John's Island.

  1. Wow! So much seems to have changed since their road trip in the '40s. I do like the mountains in the photos. Can't wait to see Yellowstone.

  3. Oh John, your memorabilia collections are marvelous! It would be fun to travel the same route in July and compare the terrain. So many stunning sights. A great collection of travel documentation!

Also, a heartfelt thank you for your continued support and extra kind words left on my blog and Facebook. You are truly a gem of a man! Reading your thoughts always brightens my day. Thank you kindly!
