NICU Prayers

On this day please join me for a moment of prayer for little ones born into this world with health complications. Thousands are in hospitals under constant care of doctors and nurses. The photo is of the place I volunteer one day each week. The dedication of the professionals who work here is amazing and yet they can't always be by the crib of a baby crying for the comfort of human touch. Parents sometimes can't be there because they have other children that need them at home. So my job is simply to cradle a little baby in my arms for a few minutes. All they ask for on this holiday is a little love and to get well soon.

Thank you for stopping by John's Island.

  1. Such a wonderful thing to do, John. And holding a small tiny infant in your arms must be good for you, too! :-)

  3. John you are an angel and of course I will pray. Back in 1964 I had a son in such a hospital, he didn't make it, but medicine has evolved so much since then. Nothing takes the place of human touch, thank you for your volunteer work . . . you have touched my heart.
