Drawing the Skyline

A walk on Thursday took us by Kerry Park, the ultimate overlook for Seattle's skyline. It's not unusual to see all sorts of folks, tourists to professional photographers, trying to capture the scene. This was our first time to see someone creating a chalk drawing. We thought he was doing pretty well.

Arriving at Kerry Park.
On a nice day it's not unual to see a lot of folks enjoying the view.

This was our first time to see someone creating a drawing.

He has lots of colors in that box.

Looking pretty good!

Thursday was mostly clear and sunny.
Thank you for stopping by John's Island.

  1. It was such a perfect day on Thursday, my hiking day, and that last picture you took of the skyline, with the mountain out, is simply lovely. I wonder how someone preserves a chalk painting. Maybe they are just for the moment. :-)

  2. I love looking at skylines of skyscrapers especially at night. This one looks impressive. The drawing too is amazing even from that distance.

an artist doing his painting :)
And I like the result, too :))

  5. Beautiful vista of Seattle from where you were. It seems you may be getting more dry weather than we are. We are getting inundated with rain! I don't think I've ever been to Kerry Park. I think I would love the scenes from up there. I do like the drive up to a place called Daybreak Star Cultural Center. From my long ago memories I seem to remember beautiful scenes over the water though I can't remember if you can see any of the city from up there. Happy Sunday John. Have a glorious week ahead. It

  6. Hi John! I am back to blogging after 11 months of absence. First things first, I am visiting bloggers who used to leave comments on my posts :)

As soon as I saw the painter photos on this entry, I was reminded of the opening scene in the movie "Stand Up Guys". It stars Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, and Alan Irkin. Have you seen it before?

Have a great week ahead! :)
