May 16 at Green Lake

Cloudy, misty morning but no rain today at Green Lake ...

At the start of today's walk I see at least one person out
for a row.
Notice the misty haze in the distance.
Common this time of year.
Sometimes it burns off to a clear sky.
Today, however the forecast calls for rain.

Any birders out there know, Is this a mallard?
It looks like one but the coloring is different than
the ones I see most commonly.

Another walk is done ... one last snap before heading back home.

Notes to self ...

Today I'm linking up with Michelle's Thankful Thursday because I'm thankful that I'm able, at my age, to walk daily and enjoy the beauty of nature. These daily walks of about 3 miles have truly improved my sense of well being. I went to the dentist last week for a regular cleaning. The first thing they do is take the blood pressure. I got the best results I have ever had in my whole life. The dentist said, Wow, What's changed? I told her I've been walking every day since late February. So, I'm just feeling thankful today. Thank you Michelle for hosting the meme.

  3. It is so good to hear that not only are you out there seeing the beauty, but your health is benefiting as well. The duck, does look like a Mallard, but I would guess maybe a partial albino.

Sure does look like a mallard but have never seen one that color. I think Ruth may be right.

  9. Hi John,
Good on you for taking the steps- literally- to help your general health. I've just finished eight weeks with first the Dentist- then the Dental Technician...a bit of a saga- but it is over now and I have my smile back after decade- feels good to look healthy again certainly. I enjoy your Postings. Regards. KEV.
